I love what I do. As someone who has experienced trauma and PTSD in my own life, I feel privileged to help others process their own traumas and find joy in their lives and relationships. As a Family Therapist with over 30 years of experience, I have worked with children, adolescents and adults. Since 2013, I have worked at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as a clinician serving combat veterans and their families, I have extensive experience with evidence-based trauma treatment and find EMDR to be the quickest and most effective intervention for PTSD and anxiety disorders. The focus of my practice is trauma treatment for all ages as well as family/couples therapy.
I became a therapist after a career in corporate America. My life experiences, combined with client interactions and trainings, make me most comfortable helping clients with concerns around anxiety, depression, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, trauma, grief, chronic illness and pain. I have a special interest in working with couples, employees who are involved with restructuring or career changes, problems with family of origin and PTSD. I believe that you are the expert on your life and that the answers reside within you. My style is to collaborate to find the solutions that fit you and your lifestyle. Sessions are designed to be respectful, solution-focused and strength-based so that you can build your skill base and complete treatment as quickly as possible.
