I'm Maureen Berube, the primary provider at JMB Family Counseling and I came into practice after a career in corporate America. In 2006, I traded-in organizational flow charts, corporate presentations and a multi-million-dollar account list to attend Fairfield University, achieving a Master of Arts degree in Marital & Family Therapy. After providing care in non-profit agencies working with individuals, couples and families, I decided to move into private practice. My life experiences, combined with client interactions and trainings, make me most comfortable helping clients with concerns around anxiety, depression, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, trauma, grief, chronic illness and pain. I have a special interest in working with couples, employees who are involved with restructuring or career changes, problems with family of origin and PTSD.
I believe that you are the expert on your life and that the answers reside within you. My style is to collaborate to find the solutions that fit you and your lifestyle. Sessions are designed to be respectful, solution-focused and strength-based so that you can build your skill base and complete treatment as quickly as possible
John is my husband and co-owner of JMB Family Counseling, LLC. He has worked in the behavioral health field for 30+ years, holding numerous positions including Clinical Director at several non-profit agencies. Currently he is using his expertise to help and support returning combat veterans and their families at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and not actively involved in the practice.
